My background
I’m a qualified therapeutic counsellor with a background in psychology, coaching and many years of experience working with people from different walks of life.
My route into counselling hasn’t been a conventional one. Before qualifying, I spent much of my career in coaching, mentoring, education and organisational development. I’ve also spent 35 years living and working in different countries, which has shaped my understanding of people, relationships, cultural differences and the challenges that come with change.
I’m naturally curious about people: what makes us tick, how we make sense of our experiences and why we sometimes find ourselves repeating patterns that no longer serve us.
I’m fascinated by what happens when someone is deeply listened to, when they get enough space to hear and appreciate what they already know. That is really at the heart of my practice.

How I work
My approach brings together the depth of therapeutic counselling with the practical perspective of coaching.
Integrative and person-centred
I draw on different therapeutic approaches rather than following a fixed formula. I value openness, curiosity and the ability to look at things from more than one perspective.
Depth, focus or both
Some people want to explore things in depth; others have a particular difficulty or decision they want to work through. Often it’s a combination of the two.
Collaborative, at your pace
I don’t believe there are always simple answers, and I’m wary of approaches that suggest otherwise. What matters to me is working collaboratively, at a pace that suits you, in a way that feels genuine, thoughtful and useful.
